Goal: losing 66 lbs
I have found my way with my diet and intermittent fasting. I can always apply it, and it is easy for me. I feel good with it.
Hello, my name is Barbara and I'm 38 years old. I am a full time mum with 3 daughters. I am 5’6’’ tall and started out with 225 lbs. Currently my weight fluctuates between 156.5 and 158.5 lbs.
How did you come across intermittent fasting and why?
My youngest daughter was born in December 2017. While breastfeeding her, I put back all the weight I had lost during the birth. We were on holiday in July 2018 and my husband took pictures of me sitting on the beach. That was the moment for me when I knew I could not go on.
Which intermittent method do you use and how does it fit into your everyday life?
My plan was to go on a ketogenic diet and at some point turn to intermittent fasting. On the first day I didn't get round to have breakfast, and from then on didn't have breakfast anymore.
I actually apply the 16/8 method, but usually fast longer. I am also interested in autophagy, so there is really only water and unsweetened tea.
What changes do you feel?
With my diet I find it very easy to do intermittent fasting. I usually cook two meals for lunch, one for my children and one for me. It helped me to give up the idea on having to combine it both.
What do you like about Fastic?
Fastic supports me and I can see how long I have actually fasted. That motivates me to fast one hour longer or not to eat anything in the evening, because I am already in my fasting phase. I simply do not want to lose any of these fasting hours.
I also find the drinking memory great on the app, because I tend not to drink enough.
When you think back to your beginnings, what has helped you most?
I have found my way with my diet and intermittent fasting. I can always apply it, and it is easy for me. I feel good with it. I think it is important to find your own way and not to force anything.
What are your next goals?
My next goal is to come below the 155 lbs barrier.
